Boxing hiatus.
So help me God.

It's joke time!
Source: www.inq7.netTanong: Saan kaya dadalhin ni Helen Clark si PGMA kapag ito'y bumisita sa New Zealand?
Sagot: Sa Middle Earth : )
See what NZ PM Helen Clark is wearing? The PM loves her country.
On this corner...
Romy wasn't on duty yesterday. So they put in a substitute trainer for me. His name was Rocky. So aside from Manny, we have a Rocky at the gym. I guess we're collecting champs.I have a bruise on my forearm. Too bad it's not from boxing. I accidentally hit my arm on the door knob at home.
Heavyweight.
Wouldja lookit those arms!
Gadzooks! Those gloves weigh a ton! *Huff! Puff!
I'm reminded of that CSI ep called "Fight Night" wherein one of the boxers injected mercury into his gloves to make them heavy. He knocked out his opponent and won the fight, all right, but he also ended up with a murder charge.
Photo to inspire.
Fight!
Yesss, I finally got myself a real pair of I'm-gonna-beat-the-crap-out-of-you-boxing-gloves -- not those cheap let's-do-boxing-today kind with the fluffy head. They're Everlast, they're black, they smell brand-new, and I got them at a discount with free handwraps.
Wheee!
(Insert Rocky soundtrack here.)

Look at those abs.
Sigh."Malakas ka na sumuntok, Ma'am a," according to Kuya Romy.Wheee.
"Pero mukhang tabingi ang suntok mo," he said.
"Tabingi ata yung gloves."
"Mukha nga. Basta sa knuckle ha."
"Ok."
Now I have an excuse to buy a new pair of honest-to-goodness expensive boxing gloves.
Wheee.
No, Kuya Romy doesn't look anything like Diana's (Michelle Rodriguez) trainer in this photo from Girlfight.
No, I don't wear those helmets because I don't spar (utos ni Nanay; although it's really tempting -- just to see if I could knock out somebody.)
No, the gym I go to doesn't look like the dark, smelly gyms in Girlfight or Million Dollar Baby.
Yes, I'm still alive.
Sorry, I need some inspiration. What I've been up to:- Trying to finish a book for February.
- Fighting on and off with one of my best friends.
- Convincing myself to go to the gym at least 3x a week.
- Convincing myself to try out surfing.
- Visiting the auto repair shop every weekend.
