Black Saturday.

New Zealand All Blacks vs British and Irish Lions
21-3

Saw the All Blacks doing the haka for the first time.
Sivivatu, Umaga, Carter -- 25 names to go.
And the coaches of course.
Can't wait for next Saturday's match.
(Forgive me, I'm a rugby virgin.)

Movie Review: Batman Begins

The Yeheys:
  • It's Batman. I'm biased.
  • Great storyline.
  • Gothic Batman-on-the-rooftop look.
  • Cool Scarecrow hallucination effects -- almost like looking at a Dave McKean artwork.
  • Gary Oldman does justice to James Gordon.

The Boos:

  • Katie Holmes.
  • The Bat-tank.
  • Alfred's phony Australian accent. He's supposed to be British, damn it.
  • The wrong pronunciation of "Ra's" in Ra's Al Gul. You wouldn't be so proud of saying your own name if you'd been watching the TV series, Mr. Neeson.
  • Scarecrow's "Fear Powder" -- you're supposed to experience your greatest fears upon inhalation, not see whatever's in front of you as a monster.
  • So who really killed Bruce Wayne's parents? The Joker? Have you ever danced with the devil by the pale moonlight?
  • Bats can only survive in a tropical environment. -- But I forgive you, Mr. Kane. May your soul rest in peace.
  • Ken Watanabe's makeup. You were dashing in The Last Samurai, I didn't even notice Tom Cruise.

In Other Words: To appreciate Batman Begins, pretend that you've never seen any episode of the Batman TV series and you've never read any of the comics and you've never seen any of Tim Burton's Batman movies.

i used to watch a little when i was in college. that's about all the rugby i know :-D

it's ok, in rugby years, i'm a toddler myself.

the new zealand All Blacks! (but not just because kicker daniel carter's kinda cute and they have nice uniforms.) i sometimes check up the scores just to see if the other NZ teams have won. (biased talaga.)

the Manawatu vs Lions game yesterday was really humiliating. 6-109. Manawatu was like a bunch of headless chickens running in the field :(
