Officer, I would like to report a hammicide. Somebody killed my hamsters.

Bono and Clyde
(2003-2005)
They are now in union with Church, Mimi, James, and the rest of the gang in Hamster Heaven. They have formed a band called "Nutty Whiskers*" with Church as their lead singer. May they all rest in peace.

*Thanks, Z.

Warning: Do not proceed if you are in the process of eating your lunch.

The victims: Bono and Clyde - two teddy bear hamsters, male
The suspect: one very large rat
The clues: blackening of the insides of both victims, explicit visual presence of ants on both victims, explicit visual presence of maggots on Hamster 1
The witness: the author

Theory 1: Both hamsters were attacked by the suspect 14 days ago, receiving bite wounds. Hamster 1 received a 3mm laceration in the rib area, Hamster 2 received a 2mm laceration on the rear leg. The wounds of both hamsters were infected by a bacterium, thereby the indication of black internal organs at the time of death. Time of death of Hamster 1 was sometime between 0400 hrs to 0600 hrs. A fly laid her eggs on the carcass, thereby allowing the eggs to hatch and pupate. Time of death of Hamster 2 was sometime between 1300 hrs to 1500 hrs, just a few hours before discovery of the witness.

Theory 2 (To explain the absence of maggots on Hamster 2): A fly laid her eggs on Hamster 1's open wound just 2 hours before death. The maggots chewed their way out of the victim.
